Dear Families and Friends of St. John the Beloved School,
Have you ever wondered what the four white columns of St. John the Beloved School represent? For 57 years, they have been iconic symbols and beacons on Milltown Road of Academic Excellence, Community, Service, and Worship.
Countless number of students have climbed the column of academic excellence at St. John’s. We provide an excellent Catholic education and the children are well-versed in the 3 R’s. They are challenged by our rigorous program and leave our school well prepared for the future.
St. John the Beloved School is also a community of faith. As the columns support our school, we support one another. Everyone is part of our family and the human family of God. We are called to take care of one another, to form relationships, and to learn how to be part of a community.
Our students are also called to serve those beyond our school walls. We sponsor several service projects and volunteer at various agencies. Thanks to the support of St. John the Beloved, our sister school in Nicaragua has been able to purchase materials and help the students there build their own columns of success.
Worshiping as a community, we glorify God. This is probably our strongest column as our children develop spiritually as well as academically. They learn to pray, to be part of the sacramental life of the Church by attending monthly school Masses, Penance services during Advent and Lent, saying the rosary in October and May along with our May Procession honoring Mary during her month. Our children also serve as altar servers, lectors, cantors and choir members.
It is our hope that you can clearly see how our school is supported not just by physical columns but by the intangible columns of faith in God and His strength.
Yours in St. Francis,
Mr. Richard D. Hart, Principal
